Kenneth McKee

Kenneth W. McKee, 68, passed away at 4:05 a.m. Tuesday, November 24, 2015 with his family by his side, at Edwardsville Nursing and Rehab in Edwardsville.

Kenny was born January 11, 1947 in Cairo. He was a son of the late Orval S. and Daisy May (Warren) McKee.

He married the former Deborah Elaine Wood on March 18, 1971 in East Alton. She survives.

An Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War, he worked as a Mechanic for many years through Labor Union Local 338 where he was a member.

Spending time at Horseshoe Lake in Olive Branch was always special to Kenny. As much as he loved to fish he loved to goose hunt. Everyone who knew Kenny, knew his love for the great outdoors.
Also surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Mindy and Destry Kueper of Livingston; one son and daughter-in-law, Mathew and Jessica McKee of Staunton; five grand children, Lacey, Jenna and Clayton Kueper, Lucas and Levi McKee; 2 great grandchildren, Harmony and Brantley Arzuagas; two sisters and their husbands, Sharon and Mick Thasher of St. James, MO, Pamela and Henry Glander of Mascatah; one brother and his wife Gary and Ellen McKee of St. James, MO; mother-in-law, Lucy Wood of Staunton; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Margaret Pruitt of Staunton, Kimberly(Wood) and Foster Oglesby of Staunton, David and Shirley Wood of Cisne, Danny and Theresa Wood of South Roxana.

Besides his parents, Kenny was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald McKee; and father-in-law, Kenneth Wood and brother-in-law Shaun Wood.

A celebration of Life will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 27, 2015 at Gray Funeral Home in Wood River.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 28, 2015 at the 1st Assembly of God Church in South Roxana where Kenny was a member. Rev. Mark Thasher and Pastor Ritch Goldizen will officiate.

The Patriot Guard will lead to Wanda Cemetery where Kenny will be laid to rest. Alton V.F.W. Post #1308 will preform Military Rites.

In Lieu of flowers a memorial may be given to Gray Funeral Home.
