Freda Maher

Freda Rae (Card) Maher, 69, passed away at 3:15 am, October 13, 2015 at home with her family by her side.She was born in St. Louis, MO on February 6, 1946 the daughter of the late Raymond William and Freda Lucille (Stutz) Card.On March 18, 1972, she married Patrick J. Maher.She was a loving wife, mother, mother in law, and grandmother with her family being the most important thing in her life.  She enjoyed volunteering her time at schools and her churches. She was a long time member at St. Matthews Catholic Church.In addition to her husband she is survived by nine children Karen (Denny) Walch, Sarah Ramos, Patrick R. (Amy) Maher, Anthony (Laura) Maher, Elizabeth (Jason) Lamparter, Mark (Rachel) Maher, Thomas (Amanda) Maher, Christopher Maher, Brian (Heather) Maher; nineteen grandchildren Claudia, Greg, Pete, and Steve Walch; Luke and Phillip Ramos; Katelyn, Lauren, and Allison Maher; Samuel, Shane, and Henry Maher; Logan and Olivia Lamparter; Aidan Seemiller, Brady and Ashleigh Maher; Colin and Gibson Maher; a brother Larry (Jan) Card; two sisters Jackie (Gary) Dalton and Cathy (Jim) Czarnecki.In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 4 pm to 8 pm Friday October 16, 2015 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton, IL.Funeral service will be at 10 am Saturday October 17, 2015 at Our Lady Queen of Peace in Bethalto, IL with Father Tom Liebler officiating. Burial will follow at Fosterburg Cemetery.Memorials may be directed to Our Lady Queen of Peace School or Masses Fund..Online condolences and guest book may be found at www.eliaskallalandschaaf.com
