Roy Frank Travis, 92, passed away at 12:54 p.m. Monday, October 5, 2015 at Eden Village Retirement Center in Glen Carbon.
Born Aug. 18, 1923 in Star Lime Works, Ky., he was a son of Clelland and Alva Travis
He married Marietta McEuen March 12, 1955 in Wood River. She survives.
Frank worked in the research and development department of Olin Corp. for over 40 years. He was a member of the Alton Moose Lodge and held many offices in the organization. He was an avid golfer his whole life.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Cindy Travis Mueller of Edwardsville; and 5 grandchildren, Frank (Kendra) Roberts, Wes (Chrissy) Roberts, Karen (Andrew) Chamberlain, Jason (Marie) Roberts, and Curt Mueller.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Cathy Saxton; 2 sisters, Elnor Smith and Lavene Langford; and a brother, John R. Travis.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9 at Paynic Home for Funerals, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 10.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
