Zittie Harris

Dateline: AltonZittie Bea Harris age 72 received eternal rest and peace on Sunday August 23, 2015 .  She was born April 2, 1943 in Merrigold, Mississippi, the daughter of Willie and Sarah (Ellis) Buchanan. She was formerly married to O.C. Harris (he survives).   She was employed with Ursuline Convent for 20 years, until her retirement in May 2015. . She served on the Alton Housing Authority Board as a Commissioner for over 7 years.  Zettie was very active in the community and was a  member of Bright Hope Chapter #85 Order of the Eastern Star.  In addition to her mother she  is survived by, her children Betty, Catherine, Daral, Every, Olivia (Victor), Dennis and  Marlon Harris, 22 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, 4 sisters Emma (Herbie) Stanton, Mary Lue Buchanan, Sarah Jean Berry and Luevenia Buchanan a brother Willie Buchanan a host of special and dear friends.Visitaton: Friday August 28, 2015  from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with Eastern Star Ceremonies at 6:00 p.m.at Tabernacle Baptist ChurchVisitation to continue on  Saturday from 9:00  a.m. until time of service  at  10:00  also at the church.Eulogist: Rev.
