Iva Belle Wildt

Iva Belle Wildt, 96,went to be with the Lord, 1:47 p.m., Monday, August 24, 2015 at Alton Memorial Hospital.

Born on December 15, 1918 in Maquoketa, IA, she was the daughter of William Er and Eva Belle (Ward) Atherton.

An active member and volunteer at the 1st United Methodist Church in East Alton, she was a homemaker and volunteered herself for several organizations.  She had served as both a Girl Scout and Cub Scout Leader.

She married John B. Wildt, Sr, who preceded her in death on September 17, 1998.

Surviving are a son, Jack (Kay) Wildt of Star City, Ark.; two daughters, Pamela (Jerry) Linder of East Alton, Millie (Barry) Picker of Kansas City, MO; 15 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren;and a sister, Dora Couch of Pittsfield.

Preceding in death were her parents; husband; daughter, Pat Kassler; three brothers, Ira, Art and Roy Atherton; and three sisters, Pearl Moore, Ethal Pitchford and Ida Fry.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Friday at the 1st United Methodist Church in East Alton.  Rev. Bill Pyatt will officiate.

Burial will follow in Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.

Memorials may be given to the 1st United Methodist Church in East Alton.

Marks Mortuary in Wood River is in charge of arrangements.
