Bonnie L. Tate, 84, passed away at 11:00 pm Thursday, July 30, 2015 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
She was born on March 17, 1931 in Harrisburg, Illinois, the daughter of James L. and Elva (Collins) Price.
She married Samuel “Leon” Tate on April 14, 1951 in Harrisburg. He survives.
Bonnie was a homemaker and attended the Wanda United Methodist Church. She previously attended the 1st General Baptist Church in East Alton, where she served as a Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, painting, studying the Bible and cooking for her family.
In addition to her husband of 64 years, she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Gregory and Sharon Tate of Moro, IL and a daughter, Lori Haring of Moro; four grandchildren, Philip and Kristin Tate, Miriah Haring, Branden Tate and Sarah Tate; a sister and brother-in-law, JoAnn and Wayne Hicks of Bloomington, Illinois many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, James “Dude” Price and a sister, Betty Spencer.
Visitation will be from 1 pm until services at 3 pm Sunday, August 2, 2015 at Elias Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto with Pastor Gary Mosimann officiating.
Private burial will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be given to Wanda United Methodist Church or American Heart Association.
