Gordon L. Admire, 72, passed away at 7:24 a.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
Born July 24, 1943 in Alton, IL, he was a son of Russell & Francis (Hampson) Admire.
Mr. Admire was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He later retired as an electrician from Local IBEW #649 after more than 30 years of service. He enjoyed painting, building things and woodworking, designing and completing various projects and found joy in working with his hands and tools.
He is survived by: a son, Jeff (Kristi) Admire of Bunker Hill, IL, a daughter, Jill (Jeff Nelson) Admire of Godfrey, 3 grandchildren, Tyler, Kyle & Kaleigh Admire, 2 brothers, Bill Admire of Lansing, MI and Joe Admire of Mulliken, MI and 2 sisters, Joyce Webber of Charlotte, MI and Carole Tosh of Alton, IL who the family would like to thank for serving as his loving and supportive caregiver.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Julie Admire and his twin brother, Jerry Admire.
The family will hold a memorial celebration of Gordon’s life from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sat. Aug. 1, 2015 at IBEW Local #649, 3945 Humbert Rd., Alton, IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Oasis Women’s Shelter or BJC Hospice.
