M. Sue Scheer 66, passed away at 12:30 pm Monday, July 6, 2015 at her residence with her family by her side.
She was born on July 9, 1948 in Alton, IL the daughter of the late Robert and Iva (Brown) Sims.
Sue married Mike Scheer on December 28, 1968 in Alton. He survives.
She was a teacher at Sacred Heart in Florissant, MO for the past 10 years and previously taught at, St. Mary’s School, St. Bernard’s School and the Alton School District. She was a member of the Prolife Group of St. Mary’s, the Society of Mothers of Peace, the Evangelization Group for 17 years and the Schoenstatt Rosary group for 15 years. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton.
Sue is survived by two daughters and their spouses, Megan and Steve Konstantopoulos and Sarah Scheer and Tim Tipsword, five grandchildren; Michael Scheer, Morgan Tipswold, Molly Tipswold, Mathew Konstantopoulos and James Konstantopoulos, four great grandchildren; Jeremy, Luke, Scott and Brooklynn; one brother and his spouse Steven K. and Jacque Sims and one brother-in-law Robert Scheer.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm, on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Staten-Fine Funeral Home in Alton.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am, on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton Fr. John Luong O.M.V., as celebrant.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church and or Society of Mother of Peace.
