Hal “Rusty” Brown, 72, of East Alton passed away Saturday, June 27, 2015 at his home with his family by his side.  He was born March 6, 1943 in Waynesville, IL. 

He worked as a BBQ grill chef at Paul Davis & Sons BBQ.  He was a member of the Odd Fellows and the 4th Street Baptist Church in Cottage Hills. He was a history buff and enjoyed reading and watching westerns and pro wrestling.

He is survived by five children, Edie Brown (Robert “Bobby”) Johnson of Cottage Hills, Hal Brown, Jr of CA, Nicole Sevier of Hartford, James Kelley of Forrest Homes and Beverly (William) Wallace of East Alton; 26 grandchildren; brother Donald (Beverly) Brown of Edwardsville; two sisters, Charlotte Jean (Marty) Pilcic of Rosewood Heights and Julie Orban–Walford (Kevin Alexander, companion) of Wood River; several nieces and nephews and special friend Patricia Brown.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Lee Brown; mother Edith (Neese) Davis; wife, Vicki Brown and son Jason Kelley.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Paynic Home for Funeral in East Alton where service will be held 10 a.m. Friday.  Burial will take place at 12:45 pm. Friday in the Glasgow Cemetery in Glasgow, IL.
