Jon J. Grams, 60, passed away at 6:40 am Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Relais Bonne Eau Hospice House.
He was born on January 25, 1955 in Granite City, IL, the son of Leo and Margaret (Presnell) Grams.
He married Rayceal Gansz on October 29, 1982 in Troy, Illinois. She survives.
Jon was a crane operator at Granite City Steel for 35 years. He was a member of AA. He enjoyed coffee, going camping with his family, his dogs and most of all loved spending time with his grandchildren. In his early years, he was a certified scuba diver and taught in California and Florida. Later he did recoveries in the Mississippi River.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his mother, Margaret Grams of Worden; a daughter and son-in-law, Angie and Bruce Edwards and a son and daughter-in-law, Andrew and Jaime Kraut all of Holiday Shores; six grandchildren, Garrett, Brandon, Emme, Griffin, Ashlyn and Madalyn; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Margaret “Babe” “Rench” Edsel of Worden, Laurie Stephens of High Ridge, MO, Diane and Ed Mercer of Holiday Shores and Janie and Mark Hawkins of Bolingbrook, IL and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father.
A memorial visitation will be from 2 pm until services at 4 pm Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto with Deacon Bob Crosby officiating.
