Leah Fulkrod

Leah E. Fulkrod, 86, passed away at 7:25am on Monday, March 30, 2015, at Eunice Smith Nursing Home in Alton. She was born on November 17, 1928, in Alton, the daughter of the late Joseph and Tessie (Gibson) Minor. She married Paul W. Fulkrod on August 21, 1952, in Alton and he preceded her in death on January 19, 2013. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and the Rev. Dennis Myers of Fennville, Mich., one son and daughter- in-law, Jim and Kelly Fulkrod of Bethalto; four grandchildren, Nick Fulkrod, Clint Myers and his wife, Amber, Levi Myers, Jordan Myers and his wife: Samantha; five great-grandchildren, and one sister: Lois Fry of Dorsey.

She was formerly employed as the Executive Secretary at Cedar Crest Retirement Home in Janesville, Wisconsin. She was a member of Emmanuel Free Methodist Church in Alton where she was the former choir director and Sunday School teacher.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters: Ruth and Esther.

In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 9am until time of funeral services at 10am on Friday, April 3, 2015, at Emmanuel Free Methodist Church in Alton. Rev. Mark Scandrett will officiate. Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the foster care ministry at Emmanuel Free Methodist Church.
