Myrtle Wade

Myrtle T. Wade went home to be with the Lord, at the age of 95, at her home with her family be her side. 

Myrtle was born December 12, 1919 in Dardanelle, Arkansas to the union of the late Rev. McKinley, Sr. and Vera (Reese) Riddlespriger.  She left Arkansas around 1938 and came to Alton.  Sister Myrtle received Christ at an early age. Mrs. Wade was married to the late James Wade, Sr. fro 59 years. She served faithfully at Bethel Temple Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of her brother and Pastor, Reverend Irwin Riddlespriger, as a choir member and as a church mother.
Mrs. Wade was an avid fisher, loved baking, and baby sitting her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by: a daughter, Dollie Stegeall; 3 brothers; and 2 sisters.

Left to cherish fond memories: 6 sons, James Wade, Jr., Walter Wade, Sherman(Debby)Wade, Leeroy(Shelia)Wade, and Joe(Tanya)Wade all of Alton, and Amauel(Brenda)Wade of Utica, N.Y.; 2 daughters, Charlane(Rev. Keith)Stampley, Jr. and Rebbeca Stewart all of Alton; 1 brother, Rev. Irvin(Mother Mary)Riddlespriger of Alton; 2 sisters, Betty Stewart and Mary Brumfield both of Alton; 56 grandchildren; 121 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 

Visitation will convene Friday, March 27, 2105 from 9 until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Deliverance Temple Complex.  Interment will follow at Upper Alton Cemetery. Pastor Irvin Riddlespriger will officiate.  Guest registry and condolences are available: www.harrisonfuenralchapel.com
