Michael Lee Engles has left this world for a better place. He was born on December 13, 1966, in Beardstown, Illinois, the son of the late Glenn Everett and Janet Lee (Atwater) Engles and passed away on February 26, 2015, at his residence. Survivors include one daughter: Jana Lynn Engles and her fiance’: Damien McGiffen of East Alton, two granddaughters: Kynlee Ann and Alexa Jade both of East Alton who loved their geezer, one brother: Robert Engles of Rosewood Heights, one sister: Alicia Fry of Rosewood Heights, several nieces, nephews, and his former wife and forever friend: Bobbi Engles of Wood River, and his former mother in law: Mildred Cleaves of South Roxana.
Mike worked at Central Stone Company in Florissant, Missouri for a long period of time. He loved spending time with is grandchildren and his best friend Mac. He was an avid outdoorsman from hunting and fishing to four wheeling. On most Sundays you could catch him watching NASCAR. Mike will be missed by many family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister: Ginia Engles Pruetzel.
In celebration of his life, visitation will be from 4pm until time of funeral services at 7pm on Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Pastor Buddy Manley will officiate. Private family graveside services will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
