Harry B. Rose, 86, passed away at 3:49 p.m. Sunday, February 22, 2015 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
Born Jan. 7, 1929 in Kampsville, he was the son of Harry A. Rose and Hazel E. (Brangenberg) Rose-Calvert.
He married Irene B. Schwarm July 15, 1977 in Wood River. She survives.
Harry was a U.S. Navy veteran. He retired in 1991, after 46 years at Olin Corp., where he was a machinist and tool & gauge inspector. He was a member of the International Assoc. of Machinist & Aerospace Workers Local #660. His favorite hobby was his love of building and making models.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a niece, Liz Krinsky, a nephew, Scott Pauketat, and a grand-niece Gidget; and 2 sisters-in-law, Nancy Schwarm of East Alton and Betty Wright of Louisiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Ada Pauketat.
Visitation will be Thursday, Feb. 26 at Paynic Home for Funerals from 1 p.m. until services begin at 2 p.m.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens.
