Jean Nolle

Donna 'Jean' Weatherford Nolle, 79, passed away 12:05 p.m. Friday, January 30, 2015 at Alton Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

Born in Kansas City, MO on March 21, 1935, she was the daughter of Richard and Clara B. (Bryant) Roscher.

After graduating from Phineas Banning High School in Los Angeles, CA in 1953, she became a single, working mother for many years, raising two children in southern California.

She married Milford E. Weatherford on May 5, 1966.  They moved to Illinois in 1971, where she has resided since.She was very passionate about the "Support Dog Program", receiving the first support dog in the St. Louis area.  Milford died on April 11, 1993.

Although she had no college education, she was a dedicated employee, as evidenced by her work record.  She worked for the Boeing Corporation from 1957-1971, leaving only because of her move to Illinois.  She then went to work for Belscot and worked there from 1971 until the store closed in 1979.  She then worked for Target from 1979 until she retired.

Jean was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto, where she was baptized there in January of 1984.

On November 27, 2009, she married Kenneth A. Nolle.  They contnue dancing at the local VFW and played BINGO at the Senior Citizens Center until her declining health required nursing home care.

She loved BINGO, dancing, 'Elvis', cruising and NASCAR racing, attending as many races as possible with her daughter.

In addition to her husband, surviving are a son, Kenneth (Cindy) Adams of Ft. Gibson, OK; daughter, Tanya (George) Kelley of Arlington, TX; grandson, Jeremy (Jennifer) Jones of Muskogg, OK; brother, William 'Bill' (Joanne) Roscher of Scottsdale, AZ; sister, Helen Severson (her companiion, Marvin Graven) of Whittier, CA; numerous nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.

Her parents; first husband; brother, Richard 'Eddie' Roscher; and sister, Jane Adams preceded in death.

Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m. Monday at Marks Mortuary in Wood River, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.

Memorials may be made to the Support Dog Program of St. Louis.
