Clara (Burkhardt) Elhoffer, 92, died at 7:55 a.m. Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Bethalto Care Center. Born in Brighton, IL, September 23, 1922, she was a daughter of the late August and Viola (Schuetz) Burkhardt. She married Jerome E. Elhoffer on March 2, 1940. He preceded her in death on April 26, 1996. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Marsha (Dick) Elhoffer of Alton and Kent and Jean (Corwin) of Hobgood, North Carolina. There are six grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren. She was precede in death by her parents, her husband, four sisters and two brothers. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 12:00 noon Monday, February 2, 2015 at Calvary Baptist Church in Alton. Reverend Andre’ Dobson will officiate.
