Samuel David Biggs, 6, gained his Angel wings Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at his home in his parent’s arms. He was born on September 2, 2008 at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Alton to Brian Harold and Lee Ann Biggs. Sam’s energetic outlook on life, and infectious smile and silly laughter made everyone who met him a much better person. He lived each and every day of his 6 ½ short years of life to the fullest. YOLO was one of his favorite sayings. Sam was a kindergarten student at Eunice Smith Elementary in Alton. He played basketball at Calvary Baptist Church for the Upward program. He also played T-Ball at Godfrey Park and Rec. He was a huge fan of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the WWE. He also loved to go to the Cardinals and Blues games. Miniature golf and the driving range were also some of his favorite things to do. He also loved playing Minecraft and watching Minecraft videos on his PC. Along with his parents, he is survived by two brothers, James and Lucas Biggs. Grandparents, Jason and Jenny Hausman of Alton, Charles Biggs also of Alton, and Duane and Susan Zimmerman of Brighton. Great grandparents, Kevin and Cheryl Hausman, a great grandmother, Stella Keene, aunts and uncles, Vicki and Marv Miller, David and Stephanie Zimmerman, Amy and Ben Richey, Ken Barrett, Melanie and Craig Smith, and Connie Lynn Snyder. As well as many great aunts and uncles and a great-great aunt. He also had many, many cousins, and a world full of friends and soldiers. He was preceded in death by a grandma, Joanne Biggs, great grandparents, Conrad and Mary Lou McGinnis, Harold and Marilyn Gaffney, Harold and Edythe Biggs, Edmund and Nellie Zimmerman, and a great uncle, Allen Biggs. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, February 2, 2015 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton and will continue from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 3, 2015. Reverend Kevin Hausman will officiate. Burial will be at Fosterburg Cemetery. Memorials donations can be made in Sam’s name to Friends of Kids with Cancer, 530 Maryville Centre Drive, Suite LL5, St. Louis, MO 63141 or to St. Baldrick’s Foundation.
