Mary L. “Bunny” Cousins Hanei Miller

Mary L. “Bunny” Cousins Hanei Miller, 82, passed away at 2:43 a.m. on Monday, January 19, 2015 at Christian Hospital NE after a long and courageous battle with chronic illness. She was born May 28, 1932 in Alton, IL the daughter of the late Clarence and Lillian (Seehausen) Cousins. She was a devoted member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Alton. She retired from the Alton Township Supervisors Office as a secretary and accountant. In 1984 she married William A. Miller and he preceded her in death. She leaves behind two daughters; Lisa Owens-Taylor of St. Louis, MO, and Jan MacGowan of Seattle, Washington, four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and her sister Anna Mae Cousins Kawula of Seattle, WA, and numerous nieces and nephews including Jody Gaither Wilson of Bridge City, TX. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until time of funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Alton with Monsignor Kenneth Steffen officiating. Burial will be private at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Godfrey. Memorials may be made to SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Alton.
