Ellen S. Lyons, 55, passed away at 6:30 p.m., Saturday January, 17, 2015 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Wood River, on January 20, 1959, daughter of George W. Robinson and Joanne (Criteser) Robinson.
On July 26, 1980, she married Patrick “Pat” J. Lyons. He survives.
Ellen was a Medical Technician for many years. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church and volunteered at the school’s library for over 20 years. She was also a member of Bethalto’s Planning Commission for more than five years. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and spending time with her family and friends, especially her granddaughter Evelyn.
She is survived by her mother, husband, and two daughters and sons-in-law, Laura & Luke McKenney of Wood River, IL and Jill & Robert Pampel of St. Louis, MO; a granddaughter Evelyn Kate Pampel; one sister and brother-in-law, Cathy & David Zumbaum of Bethalto and a brother and sister-in-law, Bill & Susie Robinson of Scottsdale, AZ.
She was preceded in death by her father.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 4 p.m. until services at 7 p.m. Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto, IL with Pastor Willard Meyer officiating.
Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society for ovarian cancer research.
