Frederick Reynolds

Frederick L. Reynolds, age 75, passed away at 9:46 pm on Thursday, January 15, 2015, at Saint Anthony’s Health Center in Alton.

He was born on March 13, 1939, in Harrisburg, Illinois, he was the son of the late Calvin Reynolds & Virginia Rose (Owen) Reynolds-Battles.

Fred served in the United States Air Force. He was employed with the City of St. Louis in the water department for 20 + years retiring in 2009.  He was a member of the 1st Baptist Church of Bethalto and the Bethalto Masonic Lodge.  He enjoyed camping, fishing with his grandchildren and spending time with his family and friends.

He was married to Peggy Louise (Fines) Reynolds of Bethalto. The couple was married June 14, 1958 in Bethalto, Illinois and had 51 years of marriage. She passed away on July 24, 2009. 

He has four daughters surviving, Michelle Chapman and Renaldo Titsworth of S. Roxana, Sheila and Cory Bowen of Meadowbrook , Lisa Bricker of Bethalto, Monica and Shawn Winstead of Elizabeth, Arkansas, and William Ressler, Jr. of St. Louis, MO.  She has ten grandchildren, Toinette Chapman, Brice Chapman, Natasha Albarran, Brittney Hunt, Travis Bricker, Aaron Bricker, Nicholas Bricker, William (Trey) Ressler III, Chenoa Winstead, Hunter Winstead, Buford Thomas Winstead; thirteen great-grandchildren; two brothers and their spouses Delmar & Carol Reynolds of Senoia GA and Calvin & Sharon Reynolds of Clarksville TN; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Brenda & Joe Shelton of E. Alton and Karen Cannon of S. Roxana and a stepfather Raleigh Battles of Granite City.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife; one brother, Brad Reynolds and one granddaughter, Heather Reynolds.

Visitation will be from 11 am until time of funeral service at 12:30 pm on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at the Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto with Pastor Charles West officiating.

Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Mo.

Memorials may be made out to Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
