There’s more changes coming for members of the YWCA of Alton. The organization has provided a full gymnasium and corresponding wellness program for years, but with money tight, they are entering into a partnership with Nautilus Fitness Center.
Executive Director Andrea Lamer says Nautilus owner Vern Vanhoy offered to open their doors to YWCA wellness pass holders and programs.

Lamer wants to be clear that they are not closing, although the building is still for sale. In early December, news of the desire to sell the YWCA building came to light. The asking price is $675,000, but so far, there have been no takers. She says the idea situation would be for someone to buy the building and gift it back to the YWCA.
