There is a good chance you will see more young people working in and around Bethalto in early June. Students from the First Baptist Church of Bethalto and Bethalto Christian Church are coming together to give up a few days of summer vacation to help their neighbors and community through an effort called "Mission Bethalto."

Pastor Tim Drury of the First Baptist Church says some of the youth will be helping families that need help with yard work, light construction or painting.

Drury comments

Others will engage in conversations around the community, volunteering at Villa Rose Senior Living Community, the Bethalto Care Center, and the House of Hope homeless shelter in Cottage Hills. If you are a homeowner and need some help with yard work, light construction or painting, call the Bethalto mayor's office at 377-8051.
