Wood River could be getting a new police station as early as the beginning of 2017. Wood River Police Chief Otis Steward gave a report of the progress in the development at the pre-meeting before the city council meeting last night. The new station is set to be built on land being donated by BP.
Chief Steward tells The Big Z they are almost ready to break ground.

Steward added that the bidding and construction documents should be done by October and once those documents are finished, contractors can decide whether or not they want to bid on the project. The project is expected to be finished 14 months from the ground breaking, which would result in a tentative completion date of January 2017.
