Motorists who use Interstate 255 might want to alter their travel plans or be prepared for possible delays south of I-270. The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced pavement repairs will begin today on I-255 between Horseshoe Lake Road and Interstate 270 in both northbound and southbound lanes.
The pavement repairs, resurfacing and bridge work will mean the closure of all but one lane in each direction while the work is completed. Motorists are reminded to slow down and be aware of workers in the construction zone. The roadwork should be finished by late fall.
