Work on the new walking trail circling Wright Lake at Belk Park in Wood River has slowed with the recent rains.  City crews laid the rock base earlier this summer and the bridge is complete.  But the rains since the start of July has hampered progress.

All of the asphalt work was done last week, with hydro-seeding scheduled for last weekend.  Park & Recreation Director Jason Woody tells The Big Z they couldn't do that because of the rain received on Friday.

About half of the finished-grade work has been completed, according to Woody.  The city envisions the path, and especially the bridge over the lake, to be a popular spot for photo shoots like those done for weddings and proms.
