A record number of athletes from around the Riverbend and beyond are getting ready for the 27th annual Wood River Triathlon coming up this Saturday, August 11.  Starting at 7am, over 500 contestants will swim, bike, and run a course that runs through a residential section of town, beginning at the Wood River Aquatic Center.

The course is a 2-mile loop through town.  Wood River Park & Recreation Superintendent Jason Woody says the weather forecast looks favorable, with high temperatures only forecast for the low 80's.

The course will consist of 450 meters in the Olympic-sized pool, followed by 12 miles on bicycle and 4 miles of running.  The event ends up at the Roundhouse at Central Park.
