The Wood River Police Chief says their new prescription drug drop-box is a busy place.  Located at the police department, the drop off of prescription drugs gathered from around the city has resulted in about four bin-fulls collected in the short time it has been offered.

Wood River Police Chief Otis Steward says the drugs are kept secure until they can be disposed of.

Steward also says they are likely getting signs similar to what the Madison County Sheriff's Department recently installed to remind residents the police department parking lot can be used as a meeting place to conduct internet transactions.  The hope is to discourage those who would use internet sites to set up crimes, and to provide a safe place for those who are legitimately buying and selling items online.
