The Wood River Woman's Club holds it annual ice cream social Sunday at Central Park.  From 2-6pm, the public is invited to enjoy the food, music, other activities, and ice cream.  This will be the fifth ice cream social they have partnered with the city on, according to club co-president Helen Crause.

She says this event is a throwback to the mid 20th century when ice cream socials were a regular attraction in small-town America.

In addition to the free ice cream, there will be a pie eating contest with prizes, a cake walk, dunking booth and a bounce house.  There will also be live music.
