A St. Louis woman has pleaded guilty to burglary after she and several other women were arrested in November for shoplifting at the Alton Lowe’s store. 23-year-old Regina M. Anderson was taken into custody on November 12 outside the store and has been in custody up until her sentencing on Monday.
Also facing charges in connection with the theft at the Alton Lowe’s, and the location in Granite City, are 32-year-old Lakesha Swopes and 24 year old Tamika Stewart both of St. Louis. Swopes and Stewart have court dates set in Madison County Court in the next few weeks. A fourth woman from Missouri may also be facing charges in the future. Anderson entered the guilty plea on Monday, and in addition to time served, was sentenced to two years probation. Authorities in other jurisdictions are investigating similar thefts at Lowe’s stores and potential charges could be forthcoming against what could be a theft ring lead by the women.
