A Granite City woman has been indicted in U.S. District Court in East St. Louis for allegedly selling cocaine. 41 year old Shelly A. Stodnick was charged with conspiracy to distribute and possess with the intent to deliver cocaine. The case was developed through the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force and Stodnick is facing trial on September 9.
Stodnick appeared in court on Monday. If found guilty, she faces up to 10 years in jail, five years of supervised release, and a $10-million fine. Federal prosecutors also plan to seek forfeiture of certain property obtained directly or indirectly from the alleged offense. The indictment was originally suppressed, but was unsealed and the charges made public this week.
