Bethalto Mayor Alan Winslow is reaching out to the village’s business owners in the hopes of finding ways to improve the municipalities’ business climate. 25 people representing 17 businesses joined Winslow at Village Hall Thursday afternoon for a special brainstorming session.
Winslow says that he was pleased to see so many local business owners getting involved.
Among the ideas proposed were beautifying Route 140, developing an attraction to bring people to Bethalto, developing light industry within the village and forming a stronger relationship with St. Louis Regional Airport.
The list of suggestions from Thursday’s meeting will be emailed to business owners who will prioritize them before the group meets again in a couple of weeks.
