Wind and rain pounded the Riverbend Tuesday evening bringing some minor to moderate damage to some homes and property. Most of it was in the form of downed trees or tree limbs, and power outages across Brighton, Godfrey, Alton and East Alton. The East Alton Township Village Apartments had some damage to it's outer structure, and the roof partially collapsed at the TitleMax location in East Alton. Boats were also knocked around at Piasa Harbor along the Great River Road.
Callers this morning to Z-1570 described what they've seen, including what this woman saw around Brighton.
Allie Ringhausen is Executive Director of the Great Rivers Land Trust, which owns Piasa Harbor. He says there is significant damage there as well (pictured).
Alton Fire Chief Bernie Sebold says while it was mostly downed trees around the city, one instance caused significant damage to one home.
There were no serious injuries reported throughout the area.
