A vital state program for women and young children will continue despite the government shutdown.  The WIC program helps low income pregnant women eat healthy, and also makes sure infants and toddlers have nutritional food as well. Roth comments

The Illinois WIC program serves 280 thousand women, infants and children under the age of five.
