Out of the more than a dozen food trucks at Saturday’s Liberty Bank Alton Amphitheater Food Truck Festival, none were from Alton or the surrounding Riverbend communities.  Alton Mayor Brant Walker says that is because rules put in place at the county level prohibits the operation of food trucks in the county on a regular basis.

He tells The Big Z he can see both sides of why the law is in place.

Repeated attempts to contact Madison County officials for comment were unsuccessful.   Sauce Magazine organized the event and the large crowd spilled out of Riverfront Park and into nearby downtown Alton restaurants on Saturday evening.
