Last month was the 4th wettest April on record in Illinois.  An average of six point nine inches of rain fell across the state in April, says state climatologist Jim Angel.

The statewide average temperature for April was 50 point one degrees, which is more than two degrees below normal.  Widespread rain continues to be a part of the forecast intermittently over much of the coming week.
