Beginning tonight at 9:11, volunteers will read the names of every American soldier killed during the Iraq War. It's part of a 2-day celebration to welcome home troops who had been serving overseas the past ten years in the Middle East. A bell will ring after each of the more than six-thousand names are read at Soldier's Memorial in downtown St. Louis.
Then tomorrow at noon, the nation's first welcome home parade for Iraq War veterans will begin at Kiener Plaza. Area kids are encouraged to make signs to line the parade route. So far, about 75 floats, 2 marching bands, and the Clydesdale's will take part in the event. The parade will end at Union Station where a resource fair will be set up to assist an veteran with post-war services.
