Every year, thousands of families struggle to stay warm in the winter and cool in the summer. For many in the low-income category there is the LIHEAP program. By using similar guidelines, the Madison County Community Development Office is registering families for its home weatherization program.
The program is designed to help county residents seal up their homes, according to Madison County’s Weatherization Program coordinator David Goodrich. He says new applicants will be considered based on family size and income.

More than 150 homes were weatherized last year, and Goodrich expects to do at least 130 this year. Call 692-8940 for more information.
