Waterloo has a booster working to raise the town’s profile. Andrew Juelfs is the founder of Discover Historic Waterloo,  Juelfs has made it his goal to make the town in Monroe County a tourist destination by hosting events on the second Friday of the month.

“For the month of July, which the second Friday will be on the 12th, that entails A Night at the Museum. That consists of three museums in Waterloo: The Peter’s Townhouse, The Bellefontaine House and the History Museum of Monroe County,” Juelfs said.

The idea for the second Friday events came to Juelfs when visitors told him they didn’t realize Waterloo had so much to offer.

“We just started this last year and we only had five events last year. This year we have six, so we’re trying to gradually get more events each year to get people to recognize downtown Waterloo,” Juelfs said.
