With subzero temperatures forecasted for the Riverbend through Tuesday, several municipalities have announced the opening of Warming Centers. The following locations in the City of Alton will be open as Warming Centers: 

Alton Square Mall Food Court. Open 7am to 9:30pm (6 pm Sundays)
(Warming Center available ONLY when mall is open; mall may close if dire conditions occur, please call to confirm availability: 465-5502)

Salvation Army
525 Alby St.
8am to 4pm
(If conditions become severe, may make gymnasium available, please call 465-7764 for information
Main Street United Methodist Church
1400 Main St.
830am to 4pm daily

Alton Fire Dept.
333 E. 20th
8am to 5pm weekdays
Station 1
(Available for short stays only)

Also open will be Riverbend Family Ministries in Wood River, from 9am to 5pm.  Call 251-9790 for information.

The Village of Bethalto has announced that Village Hall will continue to operate as a Warming Center and is open 24-7.

The City of Edwardsville has also announced that the following locations will be open as Warming Centers: Goshen, Woodland, Cassens and Warden schools and the Meyer Center at the Edwardsville YMCA. Those in need are encouraged to call the Edwardsville Police Department at 656-2131 or Glen Carbon Police at 288-2610. You are also reminded to call 9-1-1 in case of any emergency.
