The latest stretch of Highway 255 to open takes place tomorrow, and everyone is invited to take part in an unofficial run/walk/bike event this afternoon. The roadway segment between Seminary and Humbert Roads will officially open after a noon ribbon cutting on Friday, but today the public is welcome to join in the fun starting at 4:30.
The Riverbend Growth Association is inviting anyone who wants to come out to do so today, just like what thousands did before the opening of the new stretch of Interstate 64 in St. Louis a few years ago. RBGA President Monica Bristow:
Parking will be on the Seminary end of the segment, on a side road near the 255 entrance, so watch for directions. This event is free. The stretch from Humbert to Highway 67/111 is expected to open by Thanksgiving.
