In honor of International Walk to School Day, the Illinois Department of Public Health is urging students to get some fresh air and either walk or bike to school when they can.  Public Health Director LaMar Hasbrouck says school age kids should be getting 60 minutes of exercise a day, and walking or biking to school can definitely help them achieve that.

Hasbrouck comments

Hasbrouck says it can be challenging for some to walk to school, and encourages communities to take advantage of state and federal programs meant to help them develop safe routes for students.
