Early voting begins later this month in Illinois, but the last day to register to vote is today. If you want to cast your vote before Election Day April 9, Madison County Clerk Debbie Ming - Mendoza says you may want to think about voting early. She says you can cast a ballot beginning March 25 at her office in Edwardsville.
There are several races throughout Madison County is which a write-in candidate is challenging those with a spot on the ballot. There are three write-in candidates on the ballot in Alton, including two for mayor. Mind-Mendoza says in those races, make sure your handwriting is legible:

Early voting will be available March 25 through April 6, but the polls will be closed on Good Friday March 29. There are several locations around Madison County to vote early, and they can be found at the County Clerk's website. You can also vote early at the courthouses in Macoupin and Jersey counties if you are registered to vote in those jurisdictions.
