Volunteers from Ameren Illinois spent their Veterans Day building a ramp at the home of a Collinsville man.  77 year old Jack Hood watched from his home along with his wife Millie, as about 20 workers put together the ramp to make it easier for the couple to get in and out of their home.

Hood is a U.S. Army veteran and served between the Korean and Vietnam wars.   Both he and his wife use canes to get around, so the ramp will make it easier for them.  Ameren spokesman Brian Bretsch says it was nice to give back:

Ameren volunteers have built 5 ramps in the past three years, and worked with the Collinsville VFW to find a veteran in need of the project.
