For the first time since 2007, the Vietnam Wall Experience will be coming to Troy, Il.  Opening ceremonies are planned for 7pm Friday night, with Chief Master Sergeant Charles Kempker, retired, who lost a brother in Vietnam.  The experience is being made possible thanks to the Troy VFW Post 976 and the city of Troy.

The Scott Air Force Base Brass Quintet will provide the entertainment.  Roger Alons (AY-lonz) is the co-chair of the group bringing the wall to Troy.  He tells The Big Z one of the highlights for him will be an appearance by a Vietnam Huey Helicopter.

Throughout the weekend there will be several displays, including the K9 Memorial Wall, Vietnam Memorabilia, and the Agent Orange Quilt of Tears.
