The victim in Sunday night's crash in a Godfrey subdivision has been identified.  Investigators say 73-year-old Marlin F. Bushnell died of apparent injuries sustained after an SUV crashed into his home in the 100 block of Saturn Drive just before 11pm.  The driver of the vehicle allegedly fled the scene on foot but was captured a short time later at a nearby tavern.

The Madison County Sheriff's Department is conducting a criminal investigation after the SUV struck a home and killed the man inside the residence.   Police received a 911 call about a domestic disturbance in the 200 block of Mercury Drive in Godfrey.  At that time, it is believed the suspect involved in the disturbance took the keys of a vehicle belonging to a family member and fled the scene.

Captain Mike Dixon, with the Madison County Sheriff's Department says the driver fled the scene on foot but was later found on the parking lot of the nearby Beer Barrel Pub on Montclaire Avenue.  Bushnell was pronounced dead at the scene.  The suspect remains held in the Madison County Jail.
