For many veterans of America's various wars, finding a job once they return home has been as big a challenge as any they faced on the battlefield. Veterans have, as a group, proven themselves to be trustworthy, punctual, and overall good workers. The Bethalto American Legion Auxiliary Post 214 will be the site of an Opportunity and Informational day Monday from 9am-3pm, showcasing employers, services and other programs available to veterans.
Sometimes veterans are dealing with a byproduct of the war or conflict they endured, such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Vice President of the Auxiliary, Toni Stanford, says no matter the issue, there is likely an answer to the problem.
Among the agencies that will be represented at this event is the Madison County Veterans' Assistance Commission, which continues to make a concerted effort to match veterans with employment opportunities. The Bethalto American Legion is located at 109 South Prairie Street.
