A local landmark may get a makeover this spring. Lincoln – Douglas Square in Alton has long been landscaped with grasses and flowers, but there is a movement underway to replace at least some of that with a vegetable garden.

The club’s Christine Favilla says they have to make sure the area is aesthetically pleasing, so they will be careful what to put in the space that sits at the intersection of Landmarks Boulevard and Broadway.
