The Madison County Sheriff's Department is looking into several instances of vandalism this week in two Godfrey subdivisions. Complaints were made to police on Wednesday after homeowners discovered damage to vehicles parked outside in the Villa Marie and Camelot subdivisions. A total of eleven parked cars had their windows shot out by a pellet or BB gun.
Police report no suspect information was developed during the course of this weeks investigation, but the situation is similar to reports of vandalism in Meadowbrook in December. In that case police were looking for a dark in color, mid-1980's sports car, possibly a Mustang or Camaro, or a white pick up truck. They are not sure if the two cases are related. In the Godfrey case, the damage is believed to have occurred late in the evening on Tuesday or early Wednesday morning of this week. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call the Madison County Anonymous Tip Line at 296-3000, or 692-0871.
