With the temperatures rising and the weather shifting from winter to spring and teasing us with summer over the past month, you may be experiencing an increase in the pest population around your home.  The Better Business Bureau says you should check pest control companies out carefully before signing up for a service.

The BBB received more than 3,100 complaints against pest control companies last year, including 37 complaints to your local BBB, according to investigator Bill Smith.

Smith comments

Smith says if you need pest control services, check them out. Look for pest control professionals and companies that are members of national, state or local pest management associations.  Always deal with a qualified and licensed pest management company. Take your time. If a sizable amount of money is involved, get bids from several pest management companies.  Understand what is in any contract before you sign, and resist high-pressure sales tactics.
