Four Illinois communities are receiving help from the United States Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development Community Facilities Program.  Agriculture Under Secretary for Rural Development Dallas Tonsager says $300,000 in loans and $19,600 in grants will be split between Buckner, Eldorado, Rosiclare and Peru.

Since the start of fiscal year 2009, Rural Development's Community Facilities Program has helped more than 37 million rural Americans address essential challenges in health care, education, public service and public safety by financing projects through loans, grants, or loan guarantees.   This year 38 Community Facilities investments in 21 states are being awarded to continue a commitment to help create jobs and improve the economy.


  • Illinois Family Counseling Center, Inc. $100,000 loan to construct a new eight-bed group home in Rosiclare.
  • Village of Buckner $16,500 grant to purchase and install a new early warning system siren.
  • Ferrell (FAIR-UHL) Hospital Community Foundation $200,000 loan to construct approximately 3,000 square feet to the existing clinic building in Eldorado.
  • Peru Rescue Station $3,100 grant to purchase a communications equipment upgrade that converts wideband to narrowband.
